According to the Association’s By-laws, Article XVI, (B) Nominations Committee, all members in good standing are entitled to submit nominations for the Boards of Directors of the Association and the Educational Foundation. The 2012 Distinguished Service Award will be presented during a ceremony on Parliament Hill on Monday, June 4, 2012. The award honours members of the Senate and of the House of Commons who may not have been household names but who were respected by colleagues in all parties for their exemplary service and contributions.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing, on January 10, 2012, of former MP Jean Pigott. The Ottawa Citizen published this touching tribute to Jean, and her lifelong commitment to public service.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing, on December 29, 2011, of former MP Dr. John Robert Holmes, who represented the riding of Lambton--Kent, Ontario from 1972 to 1980. His obituary was published in The Star Telegram and is available here.
