2014 Distinguished Service Award - Hon. Michael Kirby

Former Senator, the Hon. Michael Kirby, O.C., has been named as last year’s recipient of the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians (CAFP) Distinguished Service Award, and was presented the award in Ottawa on Monday, June 9 by the Speakers of the Senate and House of Commons.

Former parliamentarians honoured at Annual Memorial Service on Parliament Hill

OTTAWA, June 10, 2013 — A memorial service celebrating the lives of 24 former parliamentarians took place today in the Senate Chamber. Six former senators and 18 former members of the House of Commons, all of whom passed away since May 2012, were remembered by family, friends and former colleagues during a service organized by the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians.

The Educational Foundation of the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians (CAFP) will be holding its annual fundraising Douglas C. Frith dinner on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Fairmont Château Laurier.  This year's featured speaker will be renowned business journalist Amanda Lang.  The dinner is named after distinguished former parliamentarian and the past president of the Association, the late Doug Frith.
