Hélène LeBlanc was the Member of Parliament for LaSalle–Émard from 2011 to 2015. She served as the Official Opposition critic for science, technology, industry and co-operatives. She was the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology and of the Special Committee on Co‑operatives. In 2014, she was appointed Chair of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women.
She holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Ottawa and has taught in British Columbia and Ontario. She went back to school in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science in agricultural and environmental sciences from McGill University.
Since 2020, she has been teaching French at a high school in Montreal. She also organizes voice and piano concerts in Montreal and Ottawa that are very well received. In addition, she sits on the board of directors of the Saint-Paul-Émard historical society and sings in a parish choir.
