Joyce Bateman was honored to be the Conservative MP for Winnipeg South Centre from 2011 to 2015 and had the pleasure of serving on the Finance, Public Accounts, Industry and Official Languages committees.
During her tenure in Parliament Joyce’s ability to work with all political representatives, Industry and Union stakeholders resulted in the unanimous approval of her Private Members’ Bill, Bill-627 on Rail Safety. Joyce created this Bill to address a constituent concern and it resulted in making every rail crossing safer, throughout Canada.
Joyce also had the privilege of serving her community as a School Trustee for over 10 years, chairing the Board and Finance committees at times in that tenure.
Joyce is a CPA, CA ICD.D
Joyce Articled with PriceWaterhouse, Practiced Tax with Deloitte and worked as a Chartered Accountant in senior capacities both in industry and Government prior to becoming an MP. Joyce currently serves the community on several Boards.
Joyce put herself through University playing Viola professionally in the London Symphony Orchestra.
